The main structure of the garden was designed and planted by Keith Smith and Anne Boxsell in 1998. Anne in particular had a taste for rare plants and they traveled all over Tasmania to look at other gardens and source special plant stock.
The garden is now semi mature and we are reviewing the garden plan continuously to enhance special trees or views and to provide settings for sculptures. This work often involves pruning, removal or transplanting trees and shrubs to make the garden feel more spacious.
We are not very good at knowing names of our plants, so Anne is kindly helping us work out a plant list which we will show on this website for those who are interested. The list will be set up with common and Latin names (as best we know), a photo (or photos) of the plant in question, together with an approximate date of the photo.
The photos are in alphabetical order (common names) Alternatively, you can search for the plant by name in the top search box, or by location in the garden or type of plant in the tag search box. If you have any comments or notice that we have made a mistake, we would love to hear from you, we welcome any feedback you may have!
